Expert Decluttering and Organizing
Terms and Conditions of Service
These Terms and Conditions (“Agreement”) govern the services provided by Expert Decluttering (“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) to the client (“Client,” “you,” or “your”). By scheduling an appointment or purchasing services from Expert Decluttering, you agree to the following terms.
1. Scope of Services
Expert Decluttering provides professional organizing, decluttering and coaching services for residential and commercial spaces. Services may include sorting, organizing, space planning, decluttering assistance, guidance in decision-making and recommendations for storage or organizational systems.
The Client agrees to provide reasonable access to the service location and to participate in decision-making regarding items being sorted or organized when necessary. We work collaboratively with clients. Progress depends on client participation in decision-making.
Expert Decluttering does not remove or dispose of items without the Client’s consent. All trash and recycling is the responsibility of Client. We offer to transport up to one vehicle load of your donations per session. We only transport what Goodwill Industries will accept. Any other donations are the responsibility of Client. We can supply client with a Goodwill receipt if requested before the end of your session.
Expert Decluttering does not perform any additional services, such as housecleaning or odd jobs. We reserve the right to refuse any task deemed unsafe or outside the scope of our service. We are unable to move furniture. Please have someone on hand to move your furniture if needed.
2. Scheduling and Appointments
Appointments are scheduled online in advance and confirmed by Expert Decluttering. Client agrees to add the email address beth@expertdecluttering.com to their safe sender list so they can receive confirmation and reminders. Confirmation and reminders are a courtesy. It’s client’s responsibility to remember their appointment. The Client agrees to ensure access to the service location at the scheduled time.
3. Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy
Expert Decluttering values the time reserved for each client and requires advance notice for any scheduling changes. Each rescheduled or canceled appointment results in one-half day of lost income for us. Because many of our clients struggle with anxiety and other issues, the following policy is necessary.
- Appointments rescheduled less than 72 hours before appointment time incur a $25 rescheduling fee.
- Appointments canceled or rescheduled less than 24 hours before the scheduled time will incur a $50 fee.
- Clients not present when we arrive or who don’t provide access to the property forfeit that visit and the full rate applies. If the Client has purchased a multi-visit package, one visit will be deducted from the package balance. That appointment will not be replaced with another appointment.
- Clients who arrive late will receive the remaining time in their appointment window; the full appointment fee still applies. If the client chooses to end the session early, unused time cannot be rolled over to another appointment.
Expert Decluttering reserves the right to reschedule appointments due to emergencies, illness, or unforeseen circumstances.
4. Payment Terms
Deposits for appointments are collected at the time of booking and are not refundable. Balances are collected at the end of the first visit in a package. We accept cash, check, Venmo, Apple Pay, Google Pay with no additional fees. Balances paid by asking us to process a credit card through Stripe will incur a 4% additional charge for Stripe credit card processing fees.
Multi-visit packages must be paid at the end of the first visit and are subject to the cancellation policy outlined above.
Additional organizing products or storage solutions are optional, but any purchased on behalf of the Client will be billed separately unless otherwise agreed.
Travel fees will be added to service locations more than 17 miles from O’Fallon, MO. An exact quote for travel fees will be provided if client contacts us prior to booking.
5. Photography and Media Release
Expert Decluttering may take photographs or short videos of spaces before, during, and after organizing services for documentation, training, marketing, or promotional purposes.
By agreeing to these Terms, the Client grants Expert Decluttering permission to photograph and record areas being organized.
Expert Decluttering agrees that:
- Photographs will focus primarily on the spaces and organization results, not on individuals or items identifying individuals.
- Personal identifying information will not be disclosed without permission.
Clients who prefer not to have their space photographed can opt out by notifying Expert Decluttering by text or email prior to the appointment.

However, the Client acknowledges that organizing services may involve moving items, lifting, and handling stored belongings. Cluttered areas are often unstable and items can shift.
